Who regulates us?

We are an Appointed Representative of AFP Partnership Network, 44 Broadway, Maidenhead, SL6 1LU for the purposes of Protection & Mortgages.  AFP are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).  Their Financial Services Register number is 300003.

Asset Harbour’s FRN is 630539.

Our permitted business is advising on and arranging non-investment Insurance.  

Express Consent

The lawful basis for processing data are set out in Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The processing of your personal data is carried out on the basis of having your express consent.

We may use/process your personal information to:

  • Conduct research
  • Handle complaints 
  • Share it with Business Partners for the purpose of arranging other business 
  • Comply with our Legal & Regulatory Obligations  

Asset Harbour will use client's data to process, maintain and manage the insurance contract for which the data was obtained, and may from time to time, use client data for recommending products which may be suitable to you i.e. secured loans, Mortgages and Investment & Pension products from our strategic panel of firms as defined in the Data Protection Policy.

We are members of the Society of Will Writers and comply with their Code of Practice. All our work and advice is covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance of £2m.  Will writing is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

We provide an advice and recommendation service only on the products and services mentioned above.  Additionally, we can help arrange other types of financial products through third party firms.  Asset Harbour maintain a strategic panel of such firms to facilitate access for clients to the following:

  • Equity Release Products
  • Commercial Insurances
  • Mortgages
  • Secured Loans

Advice on these products will be provided by the third-party firm, who will have the relevant permissions and expertise.  

Data Protection Policy

This policy applies to all employees and individuals acting on behalf of Asset Harbour Ltd.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the Firm operates with systems and controls in place which adhere to the regulations regarding Data Protection and to ensure that all employees are aware of the stated system and controls.

Asset Harbour is a Data Processor and a Data Controller.

Asset Harbour’ Designated Data Protection Officer is Andy Barnes.

What personal information we might need and why

  • Name
  • Contact information (for example address, telephone numbers, email addresses)
  • Age, gender, marital status, NI Number
  • Occupation including job title, place of work, and employment status
  • Information about income, expenditure, savings and wealth
  • Information about properties owned
  • Information that is relevant to us in order to arrange insurance policies for you.
  • Information that is relevant to our third parties, to arrange other business.
  • Information about your health & Medical history.

We may use/process this information to:

  • Conduct research

  • We may share your contact details only with our Business Partners for the purpose of arranging other business.
  • Comply with our Legal & Regulatory Obligations  

Asset Harbour will use client's data to process, maintain & manage the product for which the data was obtained, and may from time to time, use client data for recommending products which may be suitable to you i.e. secured loans, Mortgages, Investment & Pension products from our Business Partners listed on page 2. 

Protecting your personal information

We have appropriate technical and organisational measures in place to protect your information.

We will handle and protect your information in line with the data protection principles set out in the Data Protection Act 1998:

  1. Personal data will be processed fairly and lawfully.
  2. Personal data will be obtained only for one or more specified and lawful purpose(s) and will not be processed in a manner that is not compatible with that purpose(s).
  3. Personal data will be adequate, relevant and not excessive in relation to the purpose(s) for which they are processed.
  4. Personal data will be accurate and where necessary, kept up to date.
  5. Personal data will not be kept for longer than is necessary.
  6. Personal data will be processed in accordance with the data subject’s rights under the Act.
  7. Appropriate technical and organisational measures are in place to protect personal data from unauthorised or unlawful processing and from accidental loss, damage or destruction.
  8. Personal data will not be transferred to a country or territory outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) unless that country or territory also ensures an adequate level of protection.

Subject Access Requests (SAR’s)

Under the Act, you are entitled to ask for a copy of the personal information that we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies in your personal information corrected.

When you submit a request for your personal information, you are entitled to:

  • know what personal information we are processing or have processed;
  • know why we have processed your personal data − the reason(s) and purpose(s) for the processing of your personal information;
  • know if we have shared your personal information and if so, with whom and for what purpose(s).
